S.T.E.M Program
St Ann is committed to follow the Archdiocesan Graded Course of Study at every grade level. Students are challenged to reach standards of excellence in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Critical thinking skills are taught and emphasized as students build a strong foundation for future learning. A variety of instructional methods are used in order to meet individual learning styles.
Students at St Ann’s gain in-depth knowledge of the various engineering functions (Structural, Materials, Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Bio-Medical, and Electrical) with corresponding hands-on modules/activities. In addition, they are exposed to numerous STEM careers with community guest speakers scheduled to visit the classrooms throughout the school year.
We feature an OSMO and Robotics lab to teach science, technology, engineering, and math. Students in grades 4-8 utilize our cutting edge S.T.E.M. where we house two (2) MakerBot 3D printers, Lego robotics kits and challenges, Goldenrod Robotic ARMs, SMART board, and document camera.
All K-8 students will utilize Google Chromebooks and iPads for curriculum supplementation. Students in grades 6-8 will utilize their individual Chromebook for homework as well.
Our STEM program focuses on the following activities/skills:
Coding: Basic to Advanced coding (Gr K-8)
Collaboration: Team Work (Gr K-8)
Engineering: Engineering Design Process (Gr K-8)
Goldenrod Robotics (Gr 4-6)
Osmo Coding (Gr K-4)
Robotics: Lego Robotics (Grades 6-8)
Simulations: Labs; STEM Olympics (Gr K-8)
We look forward to working with your budding scientists!
